My Philosophy

So that is my attitude for massage. What does the client want or need from their massage. Do they want to relax from the stress of the day, are they in training for a marathon or major athletic competition. Have they had a long term problem with a limb that doctor’s attribute to “stress.“ Do I start by dimming the lights, turning on the soft massage music, pull out the body and eye pillows out, use my strongest oil creation geared to put them to sleep or do I turn the lights up and starting finding the structural deviations that are stopping an athlete from performing to their best or use some gentle joint manipulation to free the muscles a particular area so that they can return to performing at their best after a major injury. Does the individual want deep tissue or gentle energy work.

So whenever I am confronted with a person who suffers from a severe tension headache there are several different alternatives to give to a person other than the typical over the counter medication or sending a person to a doctor for a prescription. Please do not in any way think that I do not believe in the power of modern medicine and the great wonders medications are doing these days.

How and What would each modality offer a particular problem. For example, if a person has headaches, I can obtain and give a still point inducer to a person, employ certain CranioSacral techniques, make an aromatherapy blend or find an aromatherapy recipe for the person to use as a mister or oil, work with the Structural deviations that are causing the tension, find the imbalance in the energy causing the problem or use specific points along the channels used in Shiatsu or are there indications that person would need to consult with a chiropractor other professional.

Do they always work, no but I have seen many of them work when the person had no idea what I was doing at the time. The stories that I could tell you that have happened to me in the last 36 months are simply unbelievable. Sometimes I cannot even believe what happens with people some time. I should really write a book about some of them.
